Privacy Policy
How this independent review site handles information about the people who read it.
Rates at the sponsorInformation We Collect
When you visit avatbrokerau.com, you are reading an independent editorial review of a broker. You are not opening an account, making a deposit, or receiving financial advice here, and we do not ask you for the kind of information a broker would need. Most of what we hold is technical and comes from your browser: the pages you request, the time of the request, your approximate region, the type of device and browser you use, and the page that referred you.
If you write to us through the contact form on this site, we receive what you choose to put in the message, including any name or contact detail you include. Please send only what is needed for your question. We do not run accounts, and we do not collect payment details, identity documents, or trading information.
We keep collection to what the site needs to work, to measure readership in aggregate, and to answer messages from readers.
Legal Basis
We process technical data because the site has a legitimate interest in serving pages reliably, keeping them secure, and understanding which reviews are read. Where local law requires consent for measurement that is not strictly necessary, we ask for it before that measurement runs, and you can withdraw it at any time.
When you send a message, we process it to respond to you and to keep a record of the exchange. That rests on your request and on our legitimate interest in handling reader correspondence properly. We do not use your message for marketing.
We do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not profile readers for advertising.
Retention
Server logs and aggregated measurement records are kept only as long as they are useful for security, troubleshooting, and understanding readership trends, and are then deleted or reduced to counts that no longer identify anyone. In practice this means short retention for raw logs and longer retention only for totals.
Messages sent through the contact form are kept for as long as needed to answer you and to keep a reasonable record of the correspondence, after which they are removed. If you ask us to delete a message earlier, we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
We review retention periodically and remove what is no longer needed.
Children
This site is written for adults who are considering a broker in Australia. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, please tell us through the same form and we will remove it.
Analytics and Sharing
We use measurement tools to count visits and see which pages are useful. The results we look at are aggregated: page views, referral sources, rough region, and device type. We do not use these tools to identify individual readers, and we do not combine measurement data with other sources to build profiles.
Our servers and those of the providers that host the site and run measurement may sit outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Those providers process data on our instructions and under contracts that limit their use of it. We also share data where the law requires it, or with professional advisers bound by confidentiality.
We never sell reader data, and we do not share it with the broker reviewed on this site or with any other broker, platform, or marketing partner. This site is independent and is not affiliated with the broker it reviews.
Your Rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interest and ask us to restrict it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what happened before.
To use any of these rights, write to us through the contact form on this site and describe what you want. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows and may ask for enough detail to find the relevant records. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
This policy may be updated as the site changes; the version published here is the one that applies.
